1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites or applications can store on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit them. They allow preferences to be remembered, the session to be maintained or site usage to be analysed, depending on their purpose. They are only sent to the domain that set them (or authorised domains).

3. Types of cookies we use
We use the following categories of cookies in Naranest:
3.1 Strictly necessary or technical cookies
They are essential for the site to work: keeping you signed in and protecting sign-in. The law does not require consent for them, so we simply inform you that we use them.
3.2 Preference or functionality cookies
They remember options you choose (the language, the light or dark theme, the baby you have selected) so you do not have to choose them again. They are not used to analyse your usage and are not shared with third parties.
3.3 Analytics or measurement cookies
We use PostHog (servers in the European Union) to measure product usage: sign-ups, first record created, plan views and conversion. PostHog is only enabled if you accept analytics cookies, identifies you by an internal identifier (never your name or email) and receives no baby data. We do not record your screen or the content of pages. This only happens on the website: inside the iPhone app, PostHog is not loaded in the browser and no analytics cookie is stored.
3.4 Third-party cookies
When you sign in with Google or Apple, or pay on the website with Stripe, you go through those services' pages, which use their own cookies on their own domains under their own privacy policies.
4. Cookies and local storage we use
These are the cookies and local storage keys Naranest uses, on the website and in the iPhone app (which shows the same website). In production, the sign-in cookie names carry the security prefix __Secure- or __Host-.

All of them are stored on Naranest's domain. None is used for advertising or to track you across other sites or apps.
5. Consent and management
Analytics (PostHog) is not enabled until you accept it in the website's cookie notice; if you reject it, it stays off. Your choice is saved in this browser. To change it, clear naranest.app's site data in your browser and the notice will appear again. Inside the iPhone app there is no notice because no analytics cookie is used.
You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking certain technical cookies may affect how the site works (e.g. you may not be able to stay signed in).
6. Rights
In relation to personal data processed through cookies, you may exercise the rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and not to be subject to automated individual decisions), as described in our Privacy Policy.
